Sarayasign just released their new single "One Last Cry," from their forthcoming "Shadows Of The Dying Light" album (out October 31st), and to celebrate we asked Jesper Lindberg to tell us about the new song. Here is the story:
It started with silence. Out of that silence came a single riff-raw, jagged, defiant. Guitarist Peter Lundin struck the chords, and the room shifted. There was something in it, something bigger than sound. A cry of despair woven into a call to arms. When Jesper Lindberg heard it, he knew. This wasn't just a riff. It was the spark of something that demanded to be written.
The two locked eyes, and within that moment the floodgates burst open. What was supposed to be just a jam session turned into a fevered surge of creativity. Ideas collided, melodies cut through like light breaking the void, and in one sitting One Last Cry was born. An anthem not built in calculation, but in urgency-born from instinct, fire, and a need to tell a story that could not stay silent.
And the story it tells is more than music. One Last Cry is a hymn for the lost, the forgotten, and the defiant. At its heart lies a haunting narrative: a man ripped from life in a sudden car crash, his soul stranded in limbo. In the aftermath, grief consumes his girlfriend, who succumbs to despair and attempts to take her own life. But instead of death, she falls into a coma-her soul suspended, caught between worlds.
It's there, in the shadows of limbo, that something impossible sparks: a telepathic link between the two lovers. Across the void, he feels her presence. He hears her heartbeat echo like a distant drum. And with that bond as his compass, he embarks on a desperate journey through limbo to find her soul-before the darkness finds it first.
For lurking beyond is a vast, devouring shadow. A force that seeks to black out the sun, strip the world of light, and swallow every living thing into its hollow grasp. Everything it touches loses its soul and becomes one with the dark. Against this tide of oblivion, the man fights on, driven by one truth: if he can reach her, if he can hold on long enough, there is still hope.
This is the heartbeat of One Last Cry. It is more than a song-it is a beacon. A reminder that even when everything feels lost, when the weight of the world is pulling you under, there is always one more chance, one more fight... one last cry.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen and watch for yourself below and learn more here
