Independent alt-folk artist Remi Goode has released the light-hearted video for her infectious new track, "Short Circuit." The highly relatable song pokes fun at some of the fears and discomfort we often experience in social settings. "Short Circuit" appears on the forthcoming debut album Things I've Said Before (out September 26th).

"'Short Circuit' is a sarcastic critique of my anxious thoughts and inner voices," says Goode. "I wrote it with a throw-up-my-hands mentality while coming to the conclusion that all my struggles are self-inflicted. Anxiety makes so many situations seem so much bigger and more extreme than they are, but when you really look at what the anxious voices are telling you, it can feel kind of ridiculous. As someone who often catastrophizes, I thought it would be fun to play into all the absolutes and exaggerations that come with that anxious thinking." (continue)

Paris-based singer/songwriter ALA.NI released "Ton Amour," the third single off of Sunshine Music out on September 19 via No Format Records. The song pairs a reggaeton-tinged backdrop with jazz vocals and pop melodies to create an almost-menacing sonic landscape. This follows recent single "This Is Why," an introspective bossa nova number portraying the conflict of a new relationship, and comes with a visually stunning music video, shot in Port Royal, Jamaica, and directed by ALA.NI herself.

When asked about the origins of "Ton Amour," ALA.NI said, "This song mixes two lovers: a kind of Belgian Brad Pitt, and someone I met in Jamaica who behaved in a very disturbing way. I was on the beach with a friend, upset, trying to understand what had happened-how this person had emotionally trapped me and found pleasure in my distress. The situation was clearly becoming dangerous. I don't want to point fingers at Jamaica, but unfortunately, the rate of femicide there is one of the highest in the world. I knew I had to leave; at least this experience led to a song." (continue)

Nigerian born, Texas raised duo KAIRO share their new single "PLACEHOLDER" featuring buzzing alt-pop artist Amelia Moore. The track is a genre-bending collision of KAIRO's heartfelt storytelling and signature harmonies with Moore's fearless wit and edge.

Speaking of the song, KAIRO share: "This song is a milestone for us in every way - it's our first-ever feature, our first single since our debut album dropped last year, and the lead single from our upcoming EP. From the moment we wrote it, we knew it needed a female perspective to bring it to life - and there was only one person we had in mind: Amelia. We texted her the demo, and she hit us back immediately with, 'just ran it back 6 times in the whip...so fire...YES!' We've been longtime fans of her work, but over the last year in LA, we've also become real friends - which made this collaboration feel even more special. To say we're honored to have her join us on this record is an understatement." (continue)
